Local NYC stylist, Frankie Padron (http://www.frankiepadron.com) discovered The Secret Society of Ex Mermaids during NYC Spring fashion week and just had to do a shoot with the collection. She worked with photographer Murlin Saint-Jean (http://www.murlinsaintjean.com/) in her own neighborhood of Orchard Street on the Lower East Side. The shoot wandered from Frankie’s roof top to a next door vintage shop and then into the local art gallery… where gallery guests assumed it was part of an interactive art piece!
Padron said, “My inspiration was the whole 60s mod movement, which is my favorite era. Models and It girls like Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick, are who I had in mind as far as makeup and style. I wanted to give it a twist by making it more colorful, since mod was very black and white, and exaggerate the lashes to make it more artistic.”
The models were the Fraser Twins..famous for there nearly identical looks and endless legs (https://www.instagram.com/frasertwins).
The results were featured in Coco Indie Magazine as ‘Maude’ and you can see them here! http://cocoindie.com/albums/maude/
